As a GB fan, I agree that was a baffling mistake


Drafting Rodgers was a no-brainer because he was a VERY highly regarded QB who was frankly worthy of a top pick (I was vocal leading up to that draft that Smith over Rodgers was crazy... so Im not second guessing, Im first guessing).

Love OTOH was considered a 2nd or 3rd round guy. Hes a decent prospect, but nothing about him screamed "change the direction of your franchise, trade up and get this guy".

But I do agree that Rodgers should consider showing a little financial flexibility to allow the GB the cap space to get help.
